Plain version: we collect what we need to quote and fix your car, we do not sell any of it, and we will not put a photo of your vehicle anywhere public without asking you first. The full detail is below.
Dent Time LLC operates this website and provides paintless dent repair, bumper repair, scratch repair, and PDR training from 2120 W. Mission Rd. #240, Escondido, CA 92029, and by mobile service across San Diego County.
You can reach us any time at 858-408-6200, at 800-420-3368, or by email at denttime@gmail.com. If you have a question about your information specifically, email is the fastest way to reach a person about it.
We collect only what we need to quote and complete a repair. In practice that is a short list.
Photos are how this business works, so it is worth being specific about them.
We use the photos you send to assess the damage, produce an estimate, and plan the repair. They are stored on our own systems and with the service providers listed below. We do not sell them and we do not hand them to advertisers.
We will not use a photo of your vehicle publicly without asking you first. If a repair turns out to be a good example of the work and we would like to show it, we ask. You are free to say no, and saying no does not change anything about your repair or your price.
One practical note: photos taken on a phone can carry location data in the file. If that concerns you, most phones let you strip location from a photo before sending, or you can turn location off for the camera app.
We text customers, because for a photo estimate it is the fastest thing for everyone. Messaging is covered in full in our messaging compliance policy, and the essentials are these.
Only for running the business you contacted us about.
Dent Time does not sell your personal information, and does not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We have never done this and we have no plans to.
We do use service providers to run the business, and those providers only handle your information in order to do the job we hired them for. That includes our phone and text messaging provider, our scheduling software, our payment processor, our email provider, and the hosting and storage that keep this site and our records running. We also share information with your insurance carrier when you ask us to handle a claim, and with a body shop or paint specialist when a repair is outside what we do and you have asked us to refer you.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone’s safety.
This site uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working and to understand which pages people find useful. That analytics data is aggregate, meaning it tells us that a page was viewed, not who viewed it.
Some pages embed content from other services, such as a video player or a map. Those services can set their own cookies and see that you loaded their content, the same as if you had visited them directly. Your browser settings control cookies, and blocking them will not stop you from using this site.
We do not run advertising trackers that follow you to other websites.
Some browsers can send a Do Not Track signal. There is still no common standard for how a website should answer one, so we will tell you plainly what we do.
This site does not change its behavior in response to a Do Not Track signal, because there is nothing here for it to switch off. We do not run advertising trackers, we do not build profiles, and we do not follow you to other websites. The only tracking on this site is aggregate analytics that tells us a page was viewed, not who viewed it.
Third-party content embedded on some pages, such as a video player or a map, is operated by those companies under their own privacy policies and their own handling of Do Not Track.
Repair records, estimates, invoices, and the photos attached to a job are kept for as long as we need them for later questions about a repair, for insurance, and for tax and accounting requirements. In practice that means several years.
If you contacted us and never became a customer, we keep the conversation for a much shorter period and then remove it.
You can ask us to delete your information sooner. See the next section.
California residents have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA. You have the right to:
One honest note before the list. The California Consumer Privacy Act formally applies to businesses above certain thresholds, such as large annual revenue or handling the personal information of a hundred thousand or more consumers. Dent Time is a local repair shop and does not meet them. We give you these rights anyway, because they are the right way to handle someone's information regardless of whether a statute compels it.
To use any of these rights, email denttime@gmail.com or call 858-408-6200 and say what you want. We may need to verify who you are before we act, which usually means confirming the phone number or email already on the job. We respond within 45 days.
We protect your information with the safeguards you would expect from a business our size: access limited to the people who need it, encrypted connections for this website and our messaging, and reputable providers for payment and storage.
We will not claim it is impossible to breach, because no business can honestly claim that. What we can tell you is that we do not collect information we do not need, which is the most effective protection there is.
Card payments are handled by our payment processor. Dent Time does not store your full card number. When you pay us by card, the card details go to the processor, not into our records.
This is a vehicle repair business and the site is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will remove it.
If we change how we handle information, we update this page and change the effective date at the top. Material changes will be obvious rather than buried.
